HOW WE SHIP YOUR QUILT
FIRST - We roll the quilt
Rolling the quilt keeps it from having fold lines or being excessively wrinkled.
SECOND - We wrap the quilt in acid free paper
Acid Free paper keeps anything that could discolor, fade, or stain the quilt away from it during storage. You should always store your quilt this way.
THIRD - We insert the rolled, wrapped quilt into a tube
The tube is an extra layer of protection for the quilt. Natural oils in the Red Cedar are aromatic and a natural insect repellent. But, these oils can stain the quilt. The tube keeps the quilt from direct contact with the wood.
FOURTH - We close the ends of the tube
With the ends of the tubes sealed shut the quilt won’t come in contact with the wood. And nothing can get in the tube.
We then place the tube inside the Preservation Box.
We pack around the tube to it can't move around during shipment
Once the lid is on . . .
The lid is placed on the preservation box and the box slides into a plastic bag to keep out any moisture during shipment. The box is then placed inside the custom designed packaging.
The box and its special packing are placed inside a double-wall box for shipping.
We shipped 5 boxes out of state as a test. Three of those were damaged when they arrived. We knew we would need special packing to protect our content. We conducted a lot of research to find a packaging system that would protect the quilt and preservation box.
We Have Conducted "DROP TESTS" for our Custom Packaging
After a lot of trial and error, we had custom packaging designed. This custom designed packaging protects the quilt and preservation box during the shipping process.
The manufacturer has done two drop tests.
One test from four feet high and one from 8 feet high. In both tests the outer packaging and the preservation box inside were damage free. What this means is that we have confidence the quilt and preservation box will arrive at its destination damage free.
